The GAVI Alliance Board has approved a new round of country proposals for support for New and Underused Vaccines (NVS) with a 15 May application deadline. The 2011 application round offers support for the following life-saving vaccines:

  • Pentavalent vaccine (DTP-Hep B-Hib)
  • Measles second dose
  • Pneumococcal
  • Rotavirus
  • Yellow fever (routine)
  • Yellow fever preventive campaigns
  • Meningococcal A conjugate vaccine (Men A) preventive campaigns and routine.

All countries applying for GAVI NVS are required to co-finance the GAVI supported vaccines from the time of introduction. The only exceptions for co-financing are:

  • Measles second dose
  • Preventive campaigns for Men A and Yellow fever.
