Yellow fever vaccine

If yellow fever immunisation coverage is lower than that for measles in any of the 72 countries that are eligible for GAVI support, the country can apply to GAVI for support to top up their yellow fever (YF) vaccination programmes, regardless of their level of DTP3 coverage.

This GAVI condition means that a total of 28 countries currently qualify for support from GAVI for the introduction of
yellow fever vaccine. As at January 2009, 17 countries were approved for GAVI support for this vaccine.
